Love Blessing at the Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine

Today I will be introducing the Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine.
The Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine is about a 10 minute walk from the storehouse street.
■Love Blessing at the Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine
Since it is known as the shrine with the blessing of love, women from all over the country visit the shrine.
■The summer exhibition of the “corridor of marriage wind chimes”
The biggest highlight of the Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine is the summer exhibition of the “corridor of marriage wind chimes”.
This is a 10m long corridor of wind chimes with hanging prayers written on vertical cards.
The shrine grounds are decorated with about 2,000 multicolored wind chimes, and a beautiful sound can be heard when the wind blows.
When you hear this sound, you can also feel the cool refreshing wind.
The season of Corridor of marriage wind chimes

Time: 9 am to 9 pm (light up at night)
Since the olden days, it is believed that the wind has the power to convey people’s feelings.
Due to this, people believe that the feelings written on the wind chimes around the shrine will be conveyed to their loved ones.
■Light Up at the night
The wind chimes are light up at night, which creates a different scenery to enjoy.
The shrine grounds also has sacred water that will purify the mind and body, and looks like the Milky Way when light up.
On the left side of the main shrine is the ema (wooden tablets) tunnel.
The 10m tunnel is filled with wishes written on ema, and is also light up at night.
■The Special fortune Telling for love
In addition to this, the Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine has the “aitai mikuji” fortune Telling.
This omikuji (fortune Telling) is chosen by “fishing” a sea bream (tai) fish shaped fortune.
■The Red pencil
Japan also has the phrase, “red string of fate”.
With this phrase in mind, the Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine sells a red colored pencil, called the “akai enpitsu” (red pencil).
The red pencil gets shorter as you use it, symbolizing the shrinking gap between you and your lover.
