The largest lavender field in Japan
The largest lavender field in Japan will open in 2019.
It is currently the largest field in the Kanto region, but it will become the largest in Japan next year. In 2019 the field will be 8 hectares with about 50,000 lavender plants.
The fields will open between early June and early July.
This lavender field is maintained mainly by local farmers so visitors can see how each plant was individually cared for.
The combination of the blue clear sky, Japanese rural landscape, and the purple lavender flowers are breathtakingly beautiful.
In addition, there is also a shop next to the field where you can enjoy snacks and local food.
It is only about an hour and a half from Tokyo so please come and visit.
■Access
From Ikebukuro Station, take the Tobu Tojo Line towards Ogawa.
It will take about 1 hour to get to Musashi-Ranzan Station.
From the station, you can either ride the bus for 20 minutes or walk for 40 minutes.
I recommend walking if you want to enjoy Japan’s suburb scenery.
You can also return by bus.
