Stamp Rally & Photo Contest ongoing! (Closing date: February 22, 2024) Discover the charm of【Saitama】, just a short trip from Tokyo.

Take a short trip from Tokyo and experience the history, culture, and natural beauty of Japan.

Saitama can be visited on a day trip from Tokyo.

Did you know that Saitama has historical Japanese townscapes and abundant nature that are a little different from those of Tokyo?

Saitama, easily accessible from Tokyo by train, is filled with experiences that are different from those in the city center, such as time-traveling cityscapes, local delicacies, and relaxing natural scenery.

By adding a day trip to Saitama from Tokyo, you can enrich your Tokyo itinerary even more. If you are planning to visit Saitama Prefecture, now is a perfect time to participate in stamp rallies, photo contests, and various other events!

 

What is Saitama?

Itinerary 1: “Culture & History”

Experience traditional Japanese art at the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum in Saitama City and stroll through the historic streets of Edo period in Koedo Kawagoe. Just a short trip from Tokyo, visitors can experience Japanese culture and historical streetscapes.

Itinerary 2: “Relax with Nature”

Colorful flowers floating on the water, stunning views of castles and majestic mountains. This is a relaxing trip plan in the great outdoors that can be visited as a day trip from Tokyo.

Now is a great time to visit Saitama! A stamp rally is being held until February 16, 2024 (Friday)!

A stamp rally is now being held for either “Culture & History” or “Relax with Nature” itinerary.

All participants will receive a Tatami postcard! (Tatami is a traditional Japanese flooring material often used in Japanese-style rooms. It is made of woven rush straw and has a natural and rustic texture.)

Additionally, one participant who collects stamps and submits an entry will be selected by lucky draw to win a pair of tickets (two days one night) to a hot spring inn in Saitama called “Yunoyado Wado” for two people.

You may win an original Saitama tote bag and tenugui (hand towel)!

We are also holding a contest for submitting photos or videos of attractive spots in Saitama.

To participate, follow our Instagram account (@saitama.japan.official) and post photos or videos of attractive spots, scenery, culture, food, souvenirs, etc., that you discovered in Saitama on Instagram with the campaign hashtag “#excursionssaitama” and the name of your country of residence (e.g. #japan, #usa, #germany , etc.).

Photos and videos taken during the past visits to Saitama are eligible!

 

Prizes

One winner of the “Grand Prize” will receive an original Saitama tenugui towel (3 types) + tote bag set, and one winner in each of the “Saitama Sightseeing Spot Category”, “Saitama Gourmet Category” and “Saitama Experience Category” will receive an original Saitama tenugui towel (1 type) + tote bag set.
