Saitama Environmental Science International Center
Center for Environmental Science in Saitama is a core institution of environmental sciences with the environmental education center and the national institute for environmental studies combined into one. We offer various opportunities for the citizens of the prefecture to study the environment through exhibitions and a range of events.
With the renewal construction completed in 2020, a new exhibition hall “Sai Kankan” has been added.

There are two sections: “A Chapter on the Earth’s Environment”, which takes on the issues of the environment on a global scale, and “A Chapter on the Biological Environment”, which takes on environmental issues that take place close to us through a dragonflies perspective. There are 42 seats available.

From “Kōnosu Station” of JR Takasaki Line
Approximately 15 minutes via the Asahi Bus headed for “Kazoshako”, “Kazo Eki” or “Kisaimachi Fukushi Center”
Take the bus from Platform 1 of Konosu Station Easy Exit
Get off at “Kankyō Kagaku Kokusai Center” and walk for about 3 minutes
The fare for one-way 〈in the case of an Integrated Circuit (IC) card〉: Adult 320 yen 〈315 yen〉, Children 180 yen〈178 yen〉(Children are those who are below elementary school) (from October 2019)
From “Kazo Station” of Tobu Isesaki Line
Approximately 15 minutes via Asahi Bus headed for “Kōnosu Higashiguchi” or “Kōnosu Eki HIgashiguchi Keiyu Menkyo Center”
Take the bus from the route bus terminal located in Kazo Station’s South Exit
Get off at “Kankyō Kagaku Kokusai Center” and walk for about 3 minutes
The fare for one-way〈in the case of an Integrated Circuit (IC) card〉: Adult 300 yen 〈294 yen〉, Children 150 yen〈147 yen〉(Children are those who are below elementary school) (from October 2019)
It will take about 15 minutes from each station to the bus stop.
It may take longer depending on congestion in the morning and evening hours as well as the traffic situation.

From Tohoku Expressway・“Kazo Interchange”
Head in the direction of Kenos (formerly known as Kisai-machi), which is approximately a 30 minute drive (about 10 km).
Tohoku Expressway “Kazo Interchange” ~ head in the direction of “Kazo・Gyōda・Kumagaya” on the public highway
Go past the national route 125 to the crossing of Tobu Isesaki Line.
Go past the prefectural route Kazo・Konosu Line (route 38) to the national route 122.
Immediately after turning left on the intersection of “Kankyō Kagaku Kokusai Center-C”. (There is a “7-Eleven” on the corner of the intersection). _x000B_About 20 minutes (roughly 10 km) via car from the Tohoku Expressway＞Ken-o Expressway・Shiraokashobu Interchange to the direction of Hanyū. Then, drive in the direction of Konosu for about 20 minutes (roughly 10 km).

From the national route of 122 take a left on the “Kisai Sōgō Shishomae (formerly known as: Kisai Yakubamae)” intersection. (There should be a “Gusto” on the corner of the intersection)
Prefectural route Kazo・Konosu Line (route 38).
Immediately after taking a left on the intersection of the “Kankyō Kagaku Kokusai Center C”. (There is a “7-Eleven” on the corner of the intersection) _x000B_From Ken-o Expressway・”Okegawa-Kano Interchange” to the direction of Kazo (formerly known as: Kisaimachi) is about 20 minutes (roughly 10 km) via car.
Ken-o Expressway “Okegawa-Kano Interchange” ~ head in the direction of “Konosu・Kuki”.
Take a left on the intersection “Benten Numa” from the prefectural route Kawagoe・Kurihashi Line (route 12). (There should be a “Family Mart” on the corner of the intersection) (There is also a “JA Nansai” ahead)
Inaho Dōri (Nanbokusai Kouikinou Dōri).
Take a right on the intersection (There is a “Soba-ten” on the corner of the intersection.
Take the prefectural route Kazo・Konosu Line (route 38).
Take a right on the intersection of “Kankyō Kagaku Kokusai Center C”. (There is a “7-Eleven on the corner of the intersection). _x000B_About 50 minutes (roughly 20 km) from Kan-Etsu Expressway・“Higashi Matsuyama Interchange” to the direction of Kazo (formerly known as Kisai-machi).
Kan-Etsu Expressway “Higashiyama Interchange”~ take the public highway to the direction of “Kawagoe・Kawajima”.
Take the national route 254.
Take a left at the “Shimonomoto” intersection.
Go past the national route 17 from the prefectural route Higashi Matsuyama・Konosu Line (route 27) to the national route 407, Arakawa, JR Takasaki Line (land bridge)
Go past the Jōetsu Shinkansen (underpass) from the prefectural road Kazo・Kanasu Line (route 38).
Take a right on the intersection of “Kankyō Kagaku Kokusai Center C. (There is a “7-Eleven” on the corner of the intersection.
